PKC - Power Check Control

Power Check Control is a European certified tool for obtaining an immediate assessment of the health status of an electric car battery. The PKC certificate shows the residual battery performance for more than 90% of electric vehicles (BEV) in Europe. Other KPIs are available to understand the current battery wear condition.

A certified and recognized solution

The PKC – Power Check Control has been officially validated by CARA (Car Remarketing Association Europe), the reference organization in the field of automotive remarketing in Europe. This validation is not trivial: it ensures that the PKC meets the most demanding standards for assessing the health status of electric vehicle batteries.
The certification was carried out by the independent company TÜV SÜD, recognized worldwide for its expertise in control and standardization. It certifies that the PKC complies with the CARA Battery Health Check®standard, a reference framework created to meet the needs of the used electric vehicle market.

Understanding the PKC certificate

The PKC certificate assesses the health of an electric battery using several indicators: SOH (remaining capacity, ideally >80%), cell imbalance (stable voltages = healthy battery), energy consumption (Wh/km), charging history (slow charges are preferable) and number of cycles, an indicator of wear and tear.
